It’s been three weeks since we moved to Michigan and two
weeks of my new job as a preschool teacher, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s
rained like every day since we’ve been here mostly at night, but still fun!
Last night I woke up and thought there was a sunk in our room, but apparently it was in our side yard digging for grubs…yum!
Let me break down "my so called life" for you…
My job is AWESOME! I teach 10 wonderful 4 and 5 year olds
from 8:10-4:10 Monday through Friday. My school is located 22 miles away
- roughly 30 minute drive depending on how awesome traffic is. My district rents
out the school to another district except for the two preschool rooms and all
of the preschool students are teacher’s kids from my district.
Our house is getting unpacked, slowly but surely. Matt’s
primary focus has been the unmanaged land called our backyard before it gets too cold
and snowy. It’s looking pretty good! The
inside is pretty much done. The office needs some work and we need to acquire
some desks, but all in all boxes are no longer lining the hallway!
Last but certainly not least, church planting. The last two
weeks we have checked out two different churches in the surrounding area just
to see church culture, and to get some collective worship on. This last
week we went to a church in Traverse City who announced that they were launching
two new churches that day and when they flashed one of the families- we knew them!
It was really exciting to see! The pastor was really friendly and wanted to
meet up with us. Time to get our networking on!
On a side note Matt came across an Elevation CD which we
haven’t heard yet (hallelujah) it’s the perfect mixed of 80’s beats and Jesus
worship…enjoy!
